
Alcatel One Touch E260 is the first slider phone from the company. The design may be uncharted territory for Alcatel but it looks like they got it right on the first go as the E260 reeks of style and elegance. The phone has a very compact form factor and is being marketed as a fashionable yet functional phone.
The OT E260 has dimensions of 87 x 45 x 26 mm and weighs just 77 grams. The fact that a now mandatory camera is missing from the phone may surprise some folks, but Alcatel are not worried since this omitted feature has made the phone more affordable. The phone however does boast a vibrant color display which has a resolution of 102 x 80 pixels and includes 16-tone polyphonic ringtones. This new dual band phone is pretty simple when it comes to features and doesn’t have multimedia features like music player, video recording or a camera.
The OT E260 has a host of basic applications like Alarm clock, Automatic switch on/off phone, Calculator, Calendar notes, Currency converter, Date and time notation, Games and Phonebook with groups. It has a vibratory alert and includes Predictive Text Input and has a talk time of 600 minutes. The phone will be available by the second quarter of 2006 which translates into very soon though no word on pricing.
